Accessibility Audit for Wellu survey system

Accessibility

WCAG

I executed an accessibility audit for the University of Turku’s Wellu survey system. It’s a web service for creating and maintaining surveys for primary school students. The audit spanned both the end user facing survey site, as well as the admin panel and contained around 80 URL’s to audit.

In the audit I used several different tools to locate and pinpoint accessibility issues: WAVE Accessibility tools, Axe Devtools, the NVDA screen reader software and the w3 organization’s WCAG documentation along with WebAIM’s WCAG checklist.

The audit produced a report that contained a comprehensive list of accessibility issues and clear fix suggestions for them at different WCAG accessibility levels (A, AA and AAA). The client used the report as a basis for ordering the accessibility fixes to the system from us, because it’s a public service that has to comply with at least AA level accessibility.
